BAYOU BURLESQUE

LOUISIANA FILM & MUSIC PARTY AT SUNDANCE 2017

The event kicked off with a mid-afternoon parade led by Louisiana sensation, Queen Quiana Lynell and her brass band and comedian/mc King John Dardenne. Sundance party-goers marched (and danced) in front of Park City Live with as many as 100 parade-goers dressed in Mardi Gras finery, twirling parasols, and offering beads and masks to stunned passersby. Apres-skiers and visitors were amazed and eager to record the spectacle on their mobile phones.

At Park City Live, 900 guests enjoyed traditional Louisiana cuisine, including raw oyster bar, crawfish & mirliton, gulf shrimp bagnarotte, tapenade and deviled crab. The food was prepared by Louisiana Seafood Chefs Cody & Samantha Carroll. Cocktails were provided by Donner Peltier Distillers of Thibodeaux, Louisiana. The event also featured live music by Quiana Lynell and the Bayou Ramblers, a sensational opening burlesque performance by local dancer Miss Brawling Beauty, high-flying aerialist performances by AirSeekers incorporating trapeze, silks and and a birdcage, and seductive burlesque acrobatic performances by AcroRouge. New Orleans beloved DJ, OttO set the sultry, hip upbeat tone for the evening. John Dardenne served as MC.

Transported to a 1920's speakeasy, guests were donned in feathered boas and festive masks and top hats as they reveled in an extravagant celebration of Louisiana's world famous culture and talent with complimentary cocktails, cuisine, culture, and live Louisiana musical performances. Hand-painted signs by Artist TJ Black helped create the sexy gritty vibe of the New Orleans quarter. Artists, TJ Black and Alex Harvie painted live before the audience at the event. Both are heavily seasoned artists from southern Louisiana and paint collaborative live event paintings across the country. At the LIFF party at Sundance, the duo painted side by side on the same canvas in front of the crowd. http://about.me/tjblack www.harvieoilpaintings.com
