Bogalusa Charm (USA) 83 min. WORLD PREMIERE

Sunday 4/17 @ 4:30 PM in Cinemark 4

Bogalusa Charm is a contemporary portrait by native son Steve Richardson of a small Louisiana town founded at the site of the world’s largest lumber mill. For the last 27 years, Miss Dixie Gallaspy has conducted a weeklong charm school that offers local young women the skills required to guide them into “Ladyhood”. Through the lens of the school, and with the eccentric style and attitude of early Les Blank films, Bogalusa Charm looks at the conventions that dignify life in a town confronted with many challenges including a legacy of racial conflict and financial dissipation.
